How to download Instagram photos

  1. Step 1: Copy the post link

    In the Instagram app tap the Share icon on the post and choose Copy link, or copy the address on instagram.com.

  2. Step 2: Paste and fetch

    Paste the link in the box above and press Download. Carousels list every slide.

  3. Step 3: Save the photos

    Press Download next to each photo you want. Files are saved as JPG at full size.

Full-size photos, not screenshots

A screenshot only captures what fits on your screen, cropped and scaled. IG Downloader saves the photo file itself, at the largest size Instagram stores. That is usually 1080 pixels wide, and up to 2160 pixels or more for recent high-resolution uploads.

Portrait (4:5), square (1:1) and landscape photos keep their original shape. Nothing is re-compressed, so the JPG has exactly the quality Instagram delivers.

Carousel posts

Paste a carousel link once and all of its slides appear in order, up to 20. Photos get a full-size JPG; video slides get an MP4, an audio track and a cover image.

What resolution are downloaded photos?
You get the largest version Instagram stores, usually 1080 pixels wide and up to 2160 pixels or more for recent uploads. The size is shown next to every photo before you download.

How do I download all photos from a carousel?
Paste the carousel link once. Every slide appears with its own Download button, so you can save the ones you want, or all of them one after another.

Why can’t I download all slides as one ZIP file?
We stream each file straight from Instagram without storing it, so there is nothing to zip on our side. Saving slides one by one keeps the site fast and private.

Can I download profile pictures?
Not at the moment. Profile pages need a login on Instagram, so IG Downloader supports public posts, reels and videos only.

Are photos compressed again?
No. The JPG is passed through unchanged, so it has exactly the quality Instagram delivers.
