About IG Downloader

Why we built IG Downloader

Instagram is full of recipes, workouts, tutorials, travel photos and moments worth keeping, but its “Save” button only bookmarks a post inside the app, and the bookmark disappears when the post does. Most “downloader” sites we tried were slow, buried the real button under advertising, or asked for an Instagram login they had no reason to need.

We built IG Downloader to be the opposite: one box, one click, and the file you asked for. No accounts, no browser extensions, no fake buttons and no watermarks.

How it works

When you paste a link, our server opens the public Instagram post exactly as a logged-out visitor would, reads the media information Instagram already publishes for its own web player, and lists the files that belong to your post: every slide of a carousel, each with its own options. When you click Download, the file streams from Instagram’s content delivery network through our server straight to your device. We never store the file.

Our principles

• Public content only. If an account is private, or content is limited to followers or close friends, we can’t and won’t download it.
• Privacy first. We don’t ask for your Instagram login, we pseudonymise IP addresses in our logs, and analytics only run if you allow them.
• Respect for creators. Downloads are for personal use. We honour copyright notices quickly; see our DMCA policy.
• Accessible to everyone. The site is designed to meet WCAG 2.2 AA; see our accessibility statement.
